Deadliness Is Coming To Get You Or How I Killed SEO

Every time I see the phrase “SEO is dead”, it sickens me, not because I think it’s dead or not because I think it isn’t, but because, like many other things in our life, this one is just yet another trend, something fashionable in the ranks of SEO-experts and internet-marketers as a whole. So what I dislike it for is just because so many people talk about it without even having the right do to so because of the lack of expertise.
Today I am not going to take sides here, what I am going to do though is check out the SERPS for the “SEO is dead because” query and see what people have to say. I am going to try to comment on each result I deemed noteworthy and I encourage you to do the same.

SEO is dead because more people say it is.

You know, that’s possibly the best introduction statement for this little research of mine, and I guess it might well be the truth.
If you know a little something about economy, you know that there are situations when the price for particular goods goes through the roof because the potential buyers get it into their head that it should. Let me give you an example of how it works:
You hear news that the price of bottled water is going to be increased by 25%, so what do you naturally do? You go to the supermarket and buy as many bottles of water as you can afford at the current price so as to avoid the added expense of buying bottled water at the new price. There are lots of guys who would do that. The companies that produce and sell bottled water notice the increased demand and the next thing they do is increase the price.
The thing of it is, the price for bottled water goes up because you’ve been misled, and that 25% percent increase you’ve heard about was nothing but rumors.
The SEO is dead because you want it to be dead, simple as that. So if internet-marketers hear that SEO is dead, and that’s pretty much what lots of us hear, we turn or back on SEO and do something else, there is nobody left to do SEO and you can call it “dead”.
SEO is dead because it makes not a jot of difference for the average business that is successfully ploughing forward with great sales and inbound marketing!

Pay attention to the domain name and the URL that can be found in the snippet. That’s a good representation of how popular and fashionable to say that SEO is dead, it’s so popular that a person (none other than a SEO-expert, I can guess), buys a domain name that spells “seoisdead”. He knows what he is doing. He just targets the popular keyword.
Let’s go back to the statement itself though.
Well, there are lots of people who still believe that SEO is the cure for everything and then they get disappointed when it doesn’t make their business thrive after a month. Like with anything else, you should know when to apply it and when don’t. If you spend your budget on SEO without putting much thought into it, that’s what you get.
SEO is dead because the only way to get keywords data from Google is through AdWords.

Well, I don’t even know what to say on this one. Does anybody of you believe that’s what’s going on with SEO? I guess there it’s more trendy to talk about the ”not provided” issue these days.
SEO is dead because we do it but rank of our our sites is not improving.
Wow, that’s like saying that web-development is dead because no-matter what I do, my web-application refuses to work.
People’s say “SEO is dead” because people don’t know what SEO really means.
There is definitely something to think about in this statement. Let’s think about what people looked like 400 thousand years ago. They definitely looked different than what we look like  today, but they were already “homo sapiens” at that time. You can’t say that “homo sapiens” are dead because Neanderthals are dead. We’ve just evolved so much that there is very little resemblance to what we used to look like 400 thousand years ago. But we are still around, don’t you agree? “Human” means different things at different times. Now we are internet-browsing, cat-image-posting creatures, but we weren’t always like that.
SEO is dead because of Google Plus and Facebook
I don’t understand how Google Plus and Facebook don’t go well with SEO, like with different lifeforms, they can coexist on the same terrain, even though they occupy the same space and can compete for the territory sometimes or cooperate.
One of the things I don’t like about SEO-community (yeah, let the truth be revealed), is that there is some hostility going on among SEO-experts. You wouldn’t find anything like that among web-developers (I beg your pardon for always comparing SEO with web-development). SEO-experts are unlikely to share some super-tactics and techniques that work just great, because if they do, they will probably lose because of their competitors catching up with them. Of course this is the way of many things business.
If you say “SEO is dead”, there is a chance that you want others to believe it is dead, because you want to have more room to breathe for yourself. And why would you want to do so? Because you believe that SEO isn’t dead and it can still help you.
SEO is dead because it isn’t dead. Now try to wrap you head around it.
SEO is dead because nowadays SEO isn’t too much important for us.
As I said earlier, it might not be as important if you have enough means to deploy some other tactics that you are sure are going to work, but whatever it is you are going to do, there is a good chance it’ll influence your rankings, and you better keep it in mind.
In order not to make this article into a full-blown novel, I am going to list some other interesting statements I’ve found in SERP using the same tactics, but I live it up to you to think about them.
  • SEO is dead because people now buy into brands and reputation online!
  • SEO is dead because social is gaining strength.
  • SEO is dead because I’m tired of playing the game with Google.
  • SEO is dead because within 3 months there will be no more keyword data in Google Analytics..
  • SEO is dead because of Google Instant (that one was published nearly 3 years ago, but nobody talks about it today, which proves the point that people search for an excuse to say that SEO is dead).
  • SEO is dead because they (SEO-experts, author notes) spammed their websites to death.
Let’s sum everything up. There were 83 search results in total that fit the “SEO is dead because” query. Lots of articles were published just recently, which makes it yet another relapse of “deadliness” among internet-marketers and seo-experts.
As a conclusion, I want to say that there is another side to the coin. Lots of us think about making Infographics, shooting videos, posting viral content, but let’s think about how we arrived at it? What makes us do all this stuff in the first place? Lots of was wanted to do something so that our websites ranked higher in SERPs.
We always think about it and it influences most of things we do online. Doesn’t it mean that SEO has penetrated lots of aspects of online-marketing? There are more twists and turns than before and it isn’t as straightforward as it used to be, but it still comes down to SEO. If you are a SEO expert, you aren’t going to simply forget about what it is and how better rankings can influence your business.

My name is vipin and I don’t know who in the world I am. That’s the God’s honest truth. I am a SEO-expert who works for an digital marketing company , but since, after all these years, we still haven’t arrived at the definition of SEO, I’ll just say that I am the guy who makes sure our website keeps climbing up the search results, what I do in order for that to happen is a whole different story. If you want to take a rest from SEO or want to supplement it somehow with a new thing, you might want to try email marketing. Why would you want to do so?
